Privacy Policy — Friendzy

Friendzy ("we", "our", or "the app") is a party game app for iOS. This policy describes how we handle information when you use the app.

1. Information we collect

Information stored only on your device

Friendzy stores the following preferences locally on your device using your device's built-in storage (Apple's UserDefaults). This data stays on your device:

  • Whether you have completed the first-launch walkthrough.
  • Your haptic feedback preference (on/off).
  • The nickname you last used in a multi-phone room, and that room's code (so you can rejoin it).

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact information. We do not require you to create an account to use Friendzy.

Game content

All game prompts (questions, dares, words, trivia) are bundled inside the app itself. When you play on one phone, nothing about the game leaves your device.

Multi-phone rooms (optional)

If you choose "Play on all phones" or join a friend's room, the app connects to Google Firebase Realtime Database so the phones in the room can play together. While the room exists, the following is stored there:

  • The nickname you type (it doesn't have to be your real name) and whether your phone is connected.
  • A random identifier created by Firebase Anonymous Authentication. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number or Apple ID.
  • The room's 4-letter code, the game being played, and what players do in it: votes, answers, scores, and any one-word answers or clues typed in Word Association and Spy.
  • Secret game cards (your Mafia role or Spy card), which only your phone can read.

Everything typed in a room is shown only to the other players in that room, who need the room code to join. Words are checked against a filter on your phone before they are sent, and the host can hide any word. A room and everything in it are deleted when the host ends the game, or when the host starts a new room. We don't use room contents for advertising or analytics.

App integrity (Firebase App Check)

To stop other apps and scripts from using Friendzy's servers, the app uses Firebase App Check with Apple's App Attest. This sends Apple's proof that the request comes from the genuine Friendzy app; it contains no personal information.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Friendzy is free and shows ads between game sessions (never during active gameplay), served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, and ad interaction data to deliver, measure, and limit the frequency of ads. On first launch, iOS asks whether Friendzy may track you across other companies' apps and websites (App Tracking Transparency). If you decline, your device's advertising identifier is not shared and you will see non-personalised ads. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Analytics and crash reports (Google Firebase)

We use Firebase Analytics to understand which games are played and how the app is used (for example, screens viewed and games started), and Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports so we can fix bugs. This data is associated with a random app-instance identifier, not with your name or contact details. See the Firebase privacy information.

2. Information we do not collect

  • We do not collect your precise location.
  • We do not require an account, and multi-phone rooms never ask for your real name, email or phone number.
  • We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, or photo library.
  • We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared with Google only as described above, to serve ads and provide analytics and crash reporting.

3. Children

Friendzy is a party game app intended for use by groups of players. It is not specifically directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, email us at nullclub365@gmail.com and we will delete it.

4. Future updates

If a future version of Friendzy changes what data is collected, this privacy policy will be updated before those changes are released. The current policy is always available at this page and linked from within the app.

5. Your choices

  • You can clear all on-device preferences by deleting and reinstalling the app.
  • Multi-phone rooms are optional; every game except Word Association can be played on one phone without them. To have a room's data deleted sooner, the host can end the game, or email nullclub365@gmail.com with the room code.
  • You can allow or deny tracking at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Deleting your data

Friendzy has no accounts, so there is nothing to sign in to or close. Data stored on your device is removed when you delete the app. Multi-phone room data (your nickname, your answers and words in that room, and the anonymous ID) is deleted automatically when the host ends the game or starts a new room.

To ask us to delete room data sooner, or any other data we hold about you, email nullclub365@gmail.com with the subject "Friendzy data deletion" and, if you have it, the 4-letter room code. We will confirm and delete it within 30 days. Data held by Google for ads, analytics and crash reports can be managed through your device's advertising and privacy settings and Google's controls.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.

7. Contact
