How to play Fortunately / Unfortunately
Every silver lining has a cloud Build a story that keeps swinging between good and bad fortune. One player says something fortunate, the next adds an unfortunate twist, back and forth. Drama guaranteed.

How to play
- First player starts: 'Fortunately, [something good happened].'
- Next player adds: 'Unfortunately, [something bad happened because of that].'
- Keep alternating fortunately/unfortunately to build the story.
- No one can say the same type twice in a row — you must take the opposite turn.
- See how wild the story gets before it reaches a natural (terrible) conclusion.
Example round
- 'Fortunately, I won the lottery.'
- 'Unfortunately, the ticket was in my pants when I washed them.'
- 'Fortunately, the machine at the laundromat made the numbers even luckier.'
- 'Unfortunately, the laundromat is now legally a lottery winner.'
Tips
- Go specific and absurd — vague misfortunes aren't as funny as concrete ones.
- The longer the chain stays coherent, the more satisfying the finale.
