How to play Detect the Laugh
Someone's faking it. Who? A group laughs together — but one person is completely faking. One player (the detective) has to identify the faker just from the sound. Requires listening, not watching.

How to play
- One player is the detective and covers their eyes (or leaves the room).
- The group secretly agrees on who will fake their laugh.
- On the count of 3, everyone laughs — real or fake.
- The detective listens, then guesses who was faking.
- If correct, detective scores a point. Rotate roles.
Example round
- The faker's 'ha ha ha' is too evenly spaced. Caught immediately.
- The real laughs are so contagious the faker starts genuinely laughing. Game ruined. Everyone wins.
- Detective guesses wrong — faker was that convincing. Respect.
Tips
- Real laughter has irregular rhythm and pitch changes. Fake is too steady.
- Advanced: two fakers, or nobody fakes — detective has to decide if everyone was real.
